Former Acting Prosecutor General Makhnytskyi Eyeing Lawsuit On His Reinstatement At Post

Oleh Makhnytskyi, former acting prosecutor general of Ukraine, is eyeing a lawsuit on his reinstatement at the post.

He announced this to Ukrainian News Agency.

"I will make a decision this week," he said.

He says he does not want very much to return to the post, but he has decided to think about the lawsuit as former prosecutor general Viktor Shokin is seeking reinstatement at the post through a court.

"There are more grounds to satisfy my claims than his, as I was dismissed without any approval from the Verkhovna Rada," he said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Viktor Shokin, former prosecutor general, requests the Higher Administrative Court to void as illegal a decree of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on his dismissal from the post and a resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approving his dismissal from the post.
