SBU Hands To Court Indictment Of Ex-Donetsk Self-Proclaimed Governor Gubarev

The Security Service of Ukraine has transferred to the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv an indictment of the former self-proclaimed head Donetsk region Pavel Gubarev.

Press service of the SBU has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Gubarev is accused under Section 1 and Section 3 of Article 109 (actions directed at forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or takeover), Section 2 of Article 110 (attempted violation of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine), Section 1 of Article 28 (crime committed by criminal organization), Section 1 of Article 294 (civil unrest) and Section 1 of Article 258-3 (creation of terrorist organization) of the Penal Code of Ukraine.

According to the report, the investigation was conducted under the supervision of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January, SBU opened a special (in absentia) investigation against Gubarev.

In February 2016, intelligence services of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that "head" of so called Donetsk People's Republic Oleksandr Zakharchenko appointed Gubarev a "mayor" of Yasynuvata.

In May 2014, SBU put Gubarev on wanted list.
