Klimkin Predicts EU To Abolish Visas For Ukrainians By 2017

Foreign Affairs Minister Pavlo Klimkin predicts that the European Union will have abolished visas for the citizens of Ukraine before 2016 is out.

He was addressing journalists, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

“The European Commission, the European Parliament and EU Member-States have clearly stated that we have fulfilled out obligations,” the minister said.

After the respective decision is made it takes several weeks to put it into effect, he added.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President of the European Council Donald Tusk on November 18 said that he hoped EU institutes would achieve accord on the mechanism for suspension of visa-free travels for third countries soon.
