The Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv has decided to cross-examine former president Viktor Yanukovych and former commander of the Interior Affairs Ministry's internal troops Stanyslav Shuliak via a video link at 13:00 on November 25.

Presiding Judge Serhii Diachuk announced this as a court session on Tuesday, Ukrainian News reports.

The date of the cross-examination of Yanukovych and Shuliak via a video link was scheduled to be determined on November 24, but at the end of the court's session on Tuesday, November 22, one of the defendants in the case - former Berkut riot police officer Oleh Yanishevskyi - said he was feeling unwell and would not be able to attend a court session on Thursday.

Because of this, the court decided to consider the issue at its session on Tuesday.

"The court has decided to change the order of examination of evidence and cross-examine Yanukovych and Shuliak as witnesses via a video link during the next session," the court said.

The cross-examination will begin at 13:00, Kyiv time, on November 25.

Yanukovych and Shuliak will appear from the Rostov Regional Court (Russia).

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Ministry of Justice sent to Russia a second request to interrogate Yanukovych on August 16 because some documents were missing in the first request.

In May, the Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv decided to cross-examine Yanukovych via video conference in the case against five former Berkut riot police officers accused of shooting 48 Euromaidan activists on Institutska Street in Kyiv.

The Ministry of Justice sent to the first request to Russia in June.
