Cabinet Endorses Order Of Application Of EU Funds For Measures To Support Regional Development, Decentralisation Promotion Reforms

The Cabinet of Ministers has endorsed the order of application of public funds, received from the European Union, for carrying out measures to support regional development and decentralisation promotion reforms.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from Government Executive Order 827 of November 16

The Cabinet also approved the order of competitive selection of projects to be implemented at the expense of the above funds.

The Government also charged the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Public Utilities with the powers to fulfill the tasks determined by the agreement on financing the sectoral policy support programme.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the EU has provided the first tranche of EUR 23 million to finance region development projects and programmes.

A second tranche of EUR 12.5 million is expected in 2017 and a third (EUR 12.5 million) in 2018.

In all, EUR 55 million is to be assigned under this agreement.
