NBU Completing Verification Of Process Of Additional Capitalization Of PrivatBank

The National Bank of Ukraine is completing the verification of the process of additional capitalization of PrivatBank.

NBU Deputy Governor Kateryna Rozhkova announced this at a news briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The verification of the second stage of the additional capitalization of PrivatBank continues," she said.

According to her, the verification is nearly completed.

She says the verification will be completed in a week or two.

Following the verification, the International Monetary Fund will make a decision on PrivatBank's executing the process of additional capitalization.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, there were media reports saying that the Cabinet of Ministers would make a decision soon on nationalizations of PrivatBank.

PrivatBank branded the media reports as fake.

The National Bank of Ukraine recalled that a three-year program has been signed with PrivatBank regarding additional capitalization and redemption of loans to linked persons.

In August 2016, PrivatBank increased the statutory fund by 12% or by UAH 2.583 billion to UAH 21.26 billion.
