Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) believes that the statement by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) that it suspects the former head of the State Aviation Service and the airline's president and chief accountant of embezzlement neutralizes the guarantees of conduct of business in Ukraine and exerts pressure on the company.
The UIA announced this in an official statement, Ukrainian News reports.
"In connection with the publication on the official website of NABU of allegations of illegal activities by officials of the UIA, the Ukraine International Airlines company hereby declares that the actions of NABU amount to exertion of direct pressure on the airline, a crude neutralization of the guarantees of conduct of business in Ukraine, and a manifestation of the reluctance by representatives of the authorities to resolve the issue of payment of fees into the Specialized Fund State for Financing National Aviation Costs and Ukraine's participation in international aviation organizations, particularly through adoption of the appropriate laws, as required by the Constitution and the provisions of the Tax Code of Ukraine," the statement said.
The airline said that has always adheres to the letter of the law in its operations and that it will use all available means to combat manifestations of legal nihilism and unlawful pressure on the airline by law enforcement agencies.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau has announced that it suspects the former head of the State Aviation Service, the president and chief accountant of International Airlines of Ukraine of embezzlement.
