The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) suspects the Opposition Bloc political party's co-chairman Oleksandr Kasianiuk of being in charge of the Party of the Regions' "black ledger."

NABU's Director Artem Sytnyk announced this at a press conference, Ukrainian News reports.

Sytnyk said that NABU officials raided Kasianiuk's house on Friday.

The NABU director said that the investigation into the party's "black ledger" had progressed significantly.

According to him, detectives will send the final notices of suspicion to prosecutors at the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office in the near future, so that the notices can be sent to the people involved in the investigation.

In addition, Sytnyk promised to develop a mechanism for cooperation with the head of the special investigation department of the Prosecutor-General's Office, Serhii Horbatiuk, in the "black ledger" case in the near future.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Opposition Bloc has announced that law enforcement officials have raided the home its co-chairman Kasianiuk.

The Opposition Bloc believes that the case amounts to political persecution.
