The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) believes that Russia is planning to organize early parliamentary elections in Ukraine with the aim of bringing pro-Russian political forces to power.

Anatolii Dubik, the head of the department of state security protection at the Security Service of Ukraine, announced this at a news briefing, Ukrainian News reports.

According to him, pro-Russian activists have planned a number of activities that are aimed at destabilizing the situation in Ukraine, starting from 15 November.

He said that these activities include the protests by depositors of bank.

According to him, the focus of the protests will shift to the issue of raising utility tariffs in the future.

The protests are intended to escalate into blockade of government facilities.

According to him, the Security Service of Ukraine believes that riots with possible victims among protesters are being planned.

According to the SBU's information, Armenian citizen Armen Martirosyan, who was recently taken off a Belavia airline flight, was involved in the conception and implementation of this plan.

Dubik stressed that the Security Service of Ukraine has sufficient forces and means to prevent this scenario.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko recently said that officers from the Security Service of Ukraine liquidated more than 20 sabotage and reconnaissance groups outside the zone of the antiterrorist operation and prevented more than 200 terrorist attacks in 2015.
