Mikheil Saakashvili, ex-President of Georgia and former head of the Odesa regional state administration, says President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko offered him a post of the prime minister before the appointment of Volodymyr Groysman and the position of the leader of the Solidarity Bloc of Petro Poroshenko Party.

Saakashvili disclosed this in an interview with the Korrespondent outlet, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Saakashvili said he suggested President Poroshenko holding early parliamentary elections, but in April 2016 there occurred "a rigged game" - Arsen Avakov remained the interior minister and Dmytro Storozhuk from the People's Front Party became a deputy prosecutor general "to block cases that might be instituted against former prime minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk."

Saakashvili stands for early parliamentary elections as they can renew the authorities by 90%.

He notes that the Khvylia [Wave] Party can be established in case of early parliamentary elections.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September 2015 President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said Mikheil Saakashvili did not express agreement to his appointment to the post of the prime minister.
