France has indicated commitment to promote the abolition of European Union visas for Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports. Ambassador of France to Ukraine Isabelle Dumont said this during a meeting with Director of the European Union Department Vsevolod Chentsov. The parties discussed recent developments around the consideration of the legislative proposal to provide Ukrainian citizens with visa-free travels to the EU. The Ministry official informed on the progress in the fulfillment of the criteria containing in the EU visa liberalization plan for Ukraine, in particular in the fight against corruption; and also stressed the importance of preserving the positive dynamics of the consideration of the draft decision both by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn has acknowledged that Ukraine has met all EU visa-free conditions.
