The International Monetary Fund is awaiting the outcome of the work of its mission in Ukraine before making a decision on disbursement of the next loan tranche to the country.
The IMF's Director of Communications Gerry Rice announced this at a news briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to Rice, the issue of review of the IMF loan program and disbursement of the next loan tranche can be discussed only after the IMF mission in Ukraine completes its work.
The IMF mission started its work in Ukraine on 3 November.
On November 8, the National Bank of Ukraine's head Valeria Hontareva said that Ukraine would not receive the next IMF loan tranche because of the parliament's failure to adopt the necessary laws.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the IMF approved disbursement of USD 1 billion to Ukraine in September.
In its updated memorandum of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, Ukraine pledged to implement land reform and adopt a law that provides for gradually raising the retirement age for citizens.
In early October, the parliament extended the moratorium on sale of agricultural land by one year until January 1, 2018.
The National Bank of Ukraine previously expected the International Monetary Fund to disburse USD 1.3 billion as the latest loan tranche to Ukraine.
