Chairperson of the Odesa regional state administration Mikheil Saakashvili has decided to resign.
He has told this at a press-conference, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"I decided to resign and launch new phase of the fight," he said.
Among other problems, Saakashvili called sabotaging of the Open Customs Space project by the Ukrainian central authorities.
"They have not provided the money, our employees do not work, we were deceived as usually... In early 2016, the President promised me to support that project... He did not take a step to enact the project. I want to ask: how many more time you going to lie and deceive?" he said.
Besides Saakashvili noted that recently a center of administrative services solemnly opened by President Petro Poroshenko prior to the local elections is now closed.
"His faction's members introduced new terms that do not let the center work. I addressed the President requesting not to sign the law. He signed it and the center closed," he said.
Besides Saakashvili expressed concerns over the process of appointment of heads of district state administrations.
Saakashvili many time noted that in his opinion, nothing has changed for the Ukrainians with the arrival of new authorities, and that all old corrupt schemes continue.
At the end, Saakashvili said that to develop Odesa region, first of all Kyiv corruption should be fought.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Saakashvili expects that the Khvylia party will be established on the eve of the Verkhovna Rada election.
