Parubiy Sure Rada To Approve Withdrawal Of Immunity From MP Novinsky

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, has expressed confidence that the Ukrainian Parliament will approve withdraw of immunity from and bringing to justice of Member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the Opposition bloc faction Vadim Novinsky.

The Ukrainian Speaker told this to the Rada TV Channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

He said that respective recommendation is now considered by the Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and Support to Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko has asked the Verkhovna Rada to bring Novinsky to criminal responsibility.

The Prosecutor General's Office suspects the MP of organizing along with former president Viktor Yanukovych, interior affairs minister Vitalii Zakharchenko and head of the Main department of Ministry of Interior Affairs in ku Valerii Koriak of kidnapping Archbishop Oleksandr (Drabinko), personal assistance of perished former Metropolitan Archbishop of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate Vladimir.

Drabinko and one more witness provided respective evidence against the MP.
