Naftogaz Has No Plans To Produce Shale Gas

Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company does not plan to engage in shale gas production.

The company announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Ukraine possesses enough gas of conventional deposits to have no need of import.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, UkrGasVydobuvannya, the largest state gas-producing company, produced 14.528 billion cubic metres of gas in 2015 (15.112 billion cubic metres in 2014), 511,579 tons of oil and gas condensate (535,000 tons in 2014).

UkrGasVydobuvannya is 100% owned by Naftogaz.
