Ambassador of Ukraine to Austria Oleksandr Scherba believes that the Austrian chairmanship of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in 2017 will help mend the Ukraine - Russia dialogue. He said this in an interview for the Austrian Tiroler Tageszeitung newspaper, Ukrainian News Agency reports. "The OSCE Chairmanship is an opportunity. Austria has a good reputation as an intermediary, both in Ukraine and Russia. Austria wants to push the dialogue forward. Furthermore, in the conflict area in Ukraine, humanitarian players from Austria such as SOS-Kindersdorf have been established. There have already been some concrete projects from the Austrian side to help the people suffering from the conflict. The Tyrolean regional government has invited children from the war area to go on holiday in Tyrol. Other countries have followed this example in 2016. I hope that in the light of the OSCE Chairmanship these humanitarian efforts will be even more pronounced," he said. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Austria has accepted 32 children of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) combatants for health improvement in August and will accept 50 more.
