Businessman Polischuk Sold Mykhailivskyi Bank To Platinum Bank Owner Kaufman Day Before Provisional Administration

Businessman Viktor Polischuk states that he sold Mykhailivskyi Bank to the owner of Platinum Bank, Borys Kaufman, the day before Mykhailivskyi Bank was taken into provisional administration.

Polischuk announced this during the Money programme at 1+1 TV channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

He reached agreement with Kaufman on the sale of Mykhailivskyi Bank this March.

“We set out in the Memorandum that the consideration I get from Platinum Bank shall be enough to repay the loans to Mykhailivskyi Bank,” he said.

According to Polischuk, as of May 19 he owned no shares in Mykhailivskyi Bank.

The businessman underlines that they notified the National Bank about the sale, having sent all necessary letters there.

Moreover, the NBU overseer who was working at Mykhailivskyi Bank had to see all the transactions.

Polischuk thinks that NBU Governor Valeriya Hontareva was not informed about the deal.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the official NBU communication of May 23 on the insolvency declaration of Mykhailivskyi Bank stated that as of May 23 the bank was 100% owned by Ekosipan LLC, 92.5% owned by Viktor Polischuk, 3.9% by Ihor Doroshenko and 3% by Viktor Yerasov.

On May 23, Mykhailivskyi Bank published a release on its website, telling that the shareholder structure of Ekosipan LLC, the 100% owner of the bank, had changed on May 19

The owner of a qualifying shareholding Viktor Polischuk sold his 92.5% stake in the authorised capital of the bank to a group of investors, individual persons.

After the acquisition, none of the investors received any qualifying shareholding in Mykhailivskyi Bank.
