Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin does not rule out that the Netherlands may postpone looking for a solution regarding unblocking the ratification of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine until after elections set for 15 March 2017.

Foreign Minister Klimkin said this at a news briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Today there will be another sitting of the Dutch government. Today a decision will be made: they will either continue consultations, including with Brussels, to find a mutually beneficial formula and move toward the elections, or they will leave the question until after the elections in the Netherlands that will take place, as you know, on March 15," he said.

Klimkin said the Ukrainian side is in close permanent contact with political parties and the leadership of the country, the presidents of the European Commission and the European Council to find a solution to this issue.

The Ukrainian foreign ministers said the home policy of the Netherlands regarding the European Union does harm, including in the question of ratification of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine.

At the same time he stressed that a political and a judicial formula would be found to resolve the question sooner or later.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko insists on finding a mutually beneficial with the Netherlands solution to unblock the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
