Ukraine and Iran are about to intensify their political dialogue.
Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the press service for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On October 26-27, 2016 the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran headed by Special Representative of the President of Iran for the Caspian Sea Affairs, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iran Ebrahim Rahimpour pays an official visit to Kyiv for political consultations with the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine and the meetings with the leadership of the ministries of Ukraine.
At the political consultations the Ukrainian MoFA delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Serhii Kyslytsia.
The parties thoroughly exchanged views on a wide range of issues of bilateral relations and cooperation.
«It was agreed to intensify political dialogue at different levels. Special attention was paid to the increasing of trade and economic cooperation in the areas of common interest,» the press service said.
Energy, trade, agriculture, implementation of joint projects and establishing joint production of wide range of goods were identified as priority directions.
Rahimpour stressed that the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, as well as effective implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation this March, have created favourable conditions for substantial revival of practical cooperation in all fields as well as further bringing such cooperation to a brand new level.
The Deputy Ministers also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, Iran, in Middle East and South Asia.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry delegation will continue its work in Ukraine and will have a number of meetings at Ukrainian ministries and agencies.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine and Iran are set to work together for the protection of entrepreneurs' rights.
