The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine intends to suggest that the Verkhovna Rada increase the minimum wage to UAH 3,200 in 2017.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced this at a sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We have had consultations with the President [Petro Poroshenko] and the coalition. We have had hot discussions in the government... We have found a solution to take first steps on evaluation of the labor of citizens. We suggest that the wage should equal UAH 3,200 in the country in 2017," he said.
Groysman says that the living wage will also equal UAH 3,200 in 2017.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Verkhovna Rada Chairperson Andriy Parubiy predicts that the Parliament will cancel the provisions increasing wages of MPs at its plenary session meeting on November 1.
