Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has expressed condolences to the family and relatives of Bohdan Hawrylyshyn, who was Ukraine’s honorary consul in Geneva and a foreign member of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, who has died.
Groysman expressed his condolences on his Facebook page, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Sad new – an outstanding Ukrainian, Bohdan Hawrylyshyn, died today. I am grateful for everything he did for Ukraine. I express my sincere condolences to his family and relatives. Rest in peace, Bohdan," Groysman wrote.
A statement on the Facebook page of the Hawrylyshyn Charity Fund states that outstanding Ukrainian-Canadian-Swiss economist, professor, philanthropist, and social activist Bohdan Havrylyshyn died at the age of 90 at 05:00 on Monday.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko awarded Havrylyshyn the Order of Freedom on October 21.
