Kyiv Council To Consider Allocating UAH 200 Million For Organizing 2017 Eurovision Song Contest On October 27

The Kyiv city council will consider allocating UAH 200 million for preparation for and organization of the 2017 Eurovision international song contest on October 27.

The relevant draft decision is included on the agenda of the Kyiv city council's October 27 session, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The draft decision provides for financing preparation for and organization of the 2017 Eurovision international song contest with UAH 50 million in 2016, and UAH 150 million in 2017.

In addition, the agenda of the session includes increase of the size of the annual financial assistance to families of Kyiv residents killed during the anti-terrorist operation and Heavenly Hundred Heroes from UAH 2,500 to UAH 25,000.

The explanatory note to the document states that this will require allocation of an additional UAH 13,275 for implementation of the city's 2016-2018 program entitled "Care: Towards the People of Kyiv" in 2016.

The Kyiv city council also intends to ask the parliament to increase the sizes of the living wage, the minimum wage, and pension.

In total, there are 15 issues related to property and 85 issues related to land on the agenda of the session.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Kyiv city council will hold a plenary session on October 27.
