Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte expects a decision on ratification of the European Union - Ukraine Association Agreement to be made before November 1.

He announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Rutte is although pessimistic about the ratification decision.

«I have my colleagues in the European Council thanks to the informal constructive discussions that have taken place in recent months and still take place, but I also told them that I am pessimistic about a positive outcome. It takes more than space in Brussels and Kyiv. A final proposal only makes sense if it would be in The Hague landing rights. Conclusions are not drawn last night that we do for November 1st,» he wrote.

The Association Agreement with Ukraine could obviously not be separated from the instability in the region, the Dutch PM added.

«I have colleagues told bluntly that I currently see little room in The Hague in order to reach a solution. One understands this, but it is also concerned. The Dutch 'no' vote, of course, has international implications, this directly affects Ukraine, the Ukraine-Russia relations, the implementation of the Minsk agreements and Normandy process. Moreover, in the longer term of course, the opportunity still exists to continue most of the provisions in a different form, we could not ratify. Then my view, when the stakes are so great that it is also our responsibility - and perhaps even our duty - to go to extremes in order to align domestic and foreign interests. It is a search for a legally binding solution that does justice to the Dutch 'no' vote,» Rutte wrote.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Rutte doubts ratification of the EU - Ukraine AA.
