President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary have discussed the bolstering of Ukraine’s cooperation with the Visegrad Four (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia).
Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the presidential press service following Poroshenko’s visit to Maastricht, the Netherlands.
Poroshenko and Orban agreed to intensify the bilateral political dialogue between Ukraine and Hungary at all levels.
“Poroshenko highly appreciates Hungary’s support in the provision of visa-free travels to the European Union for Ukrainians, and also the soonest ratification of the Ukraine – EU Association Agreement,” the press service said.
The President also thanked the Hungarian Government for the USD 3.6 million humanitarian aid and for the treatment of Ukrainian soldiers wounded in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone.
Concerning the settlement of the conflict in Donbas, the pair discussed perspectives of continuing economic sanctions against Russia as a powerful tool to ensure a full implementation of the agreements reached in Minsk, Belarus on February 12, 2015 and restore Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty in the occupied territories.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Thursday, President Petro Poroshenko is paying a visit to Brussels, Belgium for meetings with President of the European Council Donald Tusk, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz and Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg.
