The Federal Republic of Germany and the French Republic are ready to further support the implementation of the Minsk agreements reached in Minsk (the Republic of Belarus) in February 2015. Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of France Francois Hollande told this a press-conference after the Normandy Format meeting on October 19, Ukrainian News Agency reports. Merkel confirmed readiness of Germany to assist Ukraine in the settlement of the Donbas conflict. She also noted the importance of providing representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with access to the hostages held by the separatists. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at their meeting on October 19, President Petro Poroshenko, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, President of France Francois Hollande and President of Russia Vladimir Putin have urged the foreign affairs ministers of the four countries to elaborate a roadmap for the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
