Cabinet Decides To Allow Households That Receive No Subsidies To Pay Utility Bills In Installments

The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to allow households that do not receive subsidies to pay their utility bills in installments.

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the decision at a meeting, Ukrainian News reports.

According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, consumers will have the opportunity to pay only 50% of the cost of utility services during the heating season and pay the remaining 50% after the heating season (from May to September), i.e. pay heating bills in equal installments throughout the year.

According to the press service, the Cabinet of Ministers made this decision with the aim of assisting support those families whose income levels do not allow them to pay the new utility bills.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukraine has pledged to the International Monetary Fund that it will monetize housing subsidies and benefits before the end of March 2017 to enable private gas traders to compete with the Naftogaz of Ukraine national energy company on gas supplies to the population.
