Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Marc Ayrault expects advances in the matter of granting Donbas a special status during the ‘Normand' format (Ukraine, Germany, France, Russia) talks in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday.

According to the minister, the objective of the ‘Normand Summit' is pushing for advances with the status of Donbas and the law on elections in its occupied part.
Participants in the summit will be demanding from Ukraine «detailed obligations on status of Donbas and the time-schedule of holding such elections,» he said.
Moreover, Ukraine and Russia will be pushed for progress in the disengagement of forces, Ayrault stressed.
Commenting on the upcoming summit, Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel said that it will go of «recapitulation, plainly merciless, of where we are now» where it concerns implementation of the ‘Minsk accords' on settlement of situation in the occupied part of Donbas.
But you cannot expect a miracle at the meeting, the Chancellor said.
«Talks are always important even when we exchange opinions in a very harsh manner,» Merkel underlined.
October 18, all four Normand' countries confirmed participation of their leaders in the October 19 summit in Berlin, devoted in the first place to resolving the situation in the occupied part of Donbas.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Foreign Affairs Minister Pavlo Klimkin is not awaiting achievement of weighty results during the ‘Normand' format meeting.
