President Petro Poroshenko calls on the countries of the European Union to speed up providing Ukrainian citizens with visa-free regime and ratification of the Ukraine - European Union Association Agreement.
Press service of the President of Ukraine said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the report, Poroshenko had a phone conversation with President of France Francois Hollande.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, The Foreign Affairs Ministry explains postponement of the decision on introduction of visa-free regime for Ukraine by the European Union with the lack of any consensus in the EU on the mechanism of suspension of the visa-free regime.
The European Parliament has not put the issue of visa-free regime for Ukraine on the October agenda despite all expectations of Ukraine.
Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin intends to meet with European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos in Luxembourg on October 17 to discuss the provision of visa-free regime for the citizens of Ukraine.
