National Guard Of Ukraine Obtains Status Of Observer In FIEP

The National Guard of Ukraine has received the status of observer in the Association of European and Mediterranean gendarmeries and police forces with military status (FIEP).

The press service of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ukraine announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The statement reads that the National Police of Ukraine gained the observer status in FIEP during the summit of general directors and commanders in Bucharest.

Lieutenant General Yurii Allerov, the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, signed the general declaration at the summit.

Yurii Allerov thanked all members of FIEP for supporting the National Guard of Ukraine's joining the Association as an observer.

He said the observer status was extremely important both to the National Guard and Ukraine on the way to the full membership of the European Union.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Guard expected to gain an observer status in the Association of the European and Mediterranean Police Forces and Gendarmeries (FIEP) during the summit of general directors and commanders scheduled for Bucharest (Romania) from October 11 to 14.
