The Embassy of Ukraine in the Polish Republic has filed a note of protest at the Polish Foreign Ministry over the act vandalism by Polish nationalists at the monument to soldiers of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in Poland.
Ukraine's Ambassador to Poland Andrii Deschytsia announced this to Ukrainian News.
Several days ago a member of the right-wing nationalist organization Camp of Great Poland posted a video on Youtube showing activists of organization destroy the monument to soldiers of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists says acts of vandalism against monuments to Ukrainians, including soldiers of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army aka UPA. followed a resolution of the Polish parliament calling the tragic events of 1943-1945 in Volyn as genocide against the Poles by Ukrainian nationalists.
The Sejm of Poland (the lower house of parliament) has stipulated that July 11 is the national day of commemoration of the victims of genocide, committed by Ukrainian nationalists towards the citizens of the Second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1943-45.
