The Ministry of Finance reckons to receive USD 1.3 billion more from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) before the end of 2016.
Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the Ministry press service.
"Compliance with the requirements of new Memorandum will enable raising additional USD 1.3 billion of IMF financial backing before the end of 2016, which will be applied for the National Bank of Ukraine reserves, strengthen the national currency and help create a stable and predictable investment climate," it reads.
The Ministry recalls that the decision on the second successful review of the programme and disbursement of the USD 1 billion tranche was made at a meeting of the IMF Executive Board on September 14.
The receipt of this tranche allowed drawing USD 1 billion of loan guarantees from the United States and the possibility to receive EUR 600 million Macro-Financial Assistance and other finances from our international partners.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the IMF on September 14 decided to disburse Ukraine USD 1 billion as the third tranche under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme.
The total funds disbursed for Ukraine now make some USD 7.62 billion.
The NBU expects the next IMF tranche in the amount of USD 1.3 billion.
