Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatovic says that she is attentively following the situation around Roman Suschenko, a journalist with the national news agency Ukrinform, detained in Russia.
Mijatovic announced this via Twitter on October 3 in response to a question by Ukrainska Pravda online media, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"I'm working on this case. Today in the morning I asked Russian officials for more details," she said.
Mijatovic is awaiting documents in this case from Russia.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine calls on Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muiznieks to protect Suschenko's rights.
A Court in Russia placed Suschenko under arrest for two months.
