The Cabinet of Ministers has allowed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to engage legal advisers for resolving disputes within the World Trade Organization (WTO). Ukrainian News Agency learned this from Government Executive Order 679-r of September 22, Ukrainian News Agency reports. The Government has allowed the Ministry to purchase legal services related to defending Ukraine's rights and interests, using the negotiation procedure of purchase. In particular, legal services will be purchased for the purpose of case DS499 Russian Federation - Measures affecting the importation of railway equipment and parts thereof (Complainant: Ukraine) since the numerous restrictions of transit from the territory of Ukraine through the territory of the Russian Federation to third countries in connection with the RF's restrictive measures in respect of import of products originating in Ukraine. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Russia on July 3, 2016 published the decree of the Russian President No. 319 dated July 1 on amendments to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 1 dated January 1, 2016 "On measures ensuring economic security and protecting national interests of the Russian Federation during international transit transportation of cargoes from the territory of Ukraine to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan through the territory of the Russian Federation." The decree introduces additional restrictions on the transit of Ukraine's goods through the territory of the Russian Federation.
