President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has ordered demobilization of militaries recruited during the sixth wave of mobilization.

President Poroshenko announced this in his microblog in Twitter, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Servicemen mobilized during the so-called 'sixth wave' will return home by the end of October," he wrote.

President Poroshenko says only contract soldiers will remain at the front in the zone of the antiterrorist operation after the end of the mobilization.

"As soon as the last serviceman 'of the sixth wave' is mobilized, there will be only contract soldiers at the front. This is another step toward a contract army," he added.

The presidential press service said in a statement that demobilization concerns servicemen mobilized in 2015 during the sixth wave (the third round of citizens mobilized under the presidential decree dated 14 January 2015).

"This is the last round of demobilization of citizens who were mobilized to the military service in 2014-2015 during the effect of the extraordinary period… Dismissed to the reserve will be servicemen who have served the determined periods of military service in the extraordinary period and who do not express will to continue service in the ranks of the Armed Forces or other units under contracts," reads the statement.

All of the mobilized servicemen shall be included in the military reserve of the first group.

The statement reads that the demobilization will commence in September as soon as the presidential decree on the demobilization of the sixth wave takes effect.

The statement reads that President Poroshenko instructs the Cabinet of Ministers to provide finance and take measures linked with the demobilization of the servicemen.

The servicemen demobilized under the presidential decree shall be provided with field uniform and food required on the way home.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said perspectives of the mobilization would depend on the situation in Donbas.
