Japan does not rule out further liberalization of the visa-regime for Ukrainian citizens. The press service of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced this in a statement following his meeting in New York with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, Ukrainian News Agency reports. "The parties agreed to consider the possibility of further visa liberalization for Ukrainian citizens," reads the statement. The statement reads that President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe shared views on certain issues of bilateral interaction within the UN Security Council. "Petro Poroshenko and Shinzo Abe paid attention to the preparations to the holding of the Year of Japan in Ukraine in 2017," reads the statement. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine introduced visa-free regime for citizens of Japan with diplomatic passports from June 1, 2016.
