Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and World Bank Country Director for Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine Satu Kahkonen have discussed the funding of infrastructure projects. Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the Cabinet of Ministers. The parties agreed to engage World Bank experts and financial resources in the preparation of the strategy for development of the transport infrastructure of Ukraine. It is expected that the World Bank portfolio on the implementation of this project will amount USD 1 billion. Groysman and Kahkonen also discussed issues of practical participation of World Bank experts is the drawing of the concept of the land reform and the public health system in Ukraine. The World Bank Country Director presented the Premier the WB analysis of the programme of energy tariffs and subsidies. Groysman raised the question of the need to reconsider the WB's existing loan portfolio in Ukraine, in particular to study expediency of further realisation of those projects that are implemented at a slow pace. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko points out the importance engaging quicker Japanese firms and investors in the energy security, infrastructure and environment sectors of Ukraine.
