United States: Control Over Media And Pressure On Public Negative For Results Of Election To State Duma Of Russia

The United States considers that the control over the media and pressure on the public are negative for the election to the State Duma (the Parliament of the Russian Federation) that took place on September 18.

The U.S. Department of State has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The United States also expressed concern over the oppression of representatives of the political opposition in Russia.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the European Union, United States, Britain, Canada and the Republic of Poland do not recognize results of the election to the State Duma of Russia in the territory of the Russia-annexed Crimea.
