Estonia Not Supporting Russian Duma Elections In Crimea

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia does not support elections to the State Duma of Russia on the territory of the Crimea annexed by Russia.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia gave the position in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The statement reads that the elections in the Crimea will be another example of explicit violation of the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Estonia also expresses its support to a decision made by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe not to send observers to the Crimea.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, the European Commission will not recognize the elections to the Russian State Duma on the territory of the Crimea.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has called on countries of G7 and member states of the European Union not to recognize legitimacy of the Russian parliamentary elections in Crimea.
