IMF Executive Board Makes Decisions By Majority Vote, Finance Ministry Recalls

The Ministry of Finance recalls that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board makes decisions by majority vote.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from the Ministry.

The Finance Ministry reminds that Russia in the previous votes never supported the IMF decision to disburse Ukraine tranches under the existing Extended Fund Facility programme.

Despite that, the IMF made a positive decision twice and Ukraine has already received two tranches under the IMF programme.

The Ministry is looking to a positive result of the Executive Board voting on September 14 and to receiving a third tranche in the nearest time.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, The IMF is considering the issued disbursement of the next tranche for Ukraine September 14.

The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has ordered its representative at the IMF to vote against the decision to disburse the next tranche for Ukraine.
