President Petro Poroshenko hopes that trade between Ukraine and Switzerland will pick up.
Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the presidential press ervice.
Об этом говорится в сообщении пресс-службы Президента, передают Украiнськi Новини.
During the meeting with President of the National Council of Switzerland Christa Markwalder, Poroshenko pointed to the 8.3% growth of Swiss investments in Ukraine in the first half of 2016.
He also hopes that the regular meeting of the Ukraine-Switzerland committee on trade and economic cooperation in late September in Kyiv will promote further pickup of trade and investments between the two countries.
The President thanked the Swiss party for the principled position of non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea by Russia and the steps it made to prevent usage of the Swiss territory for bypassing the sanctions the European Union had imposed on Russia.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Switzerland is determined to allocate USD 200 million for Ukraine to replenish gold and foreign currency reserves.
