In occupied Yalta, amid power outages, community kitchens have begun to be set up in the courtyards of apartment buildings so that people can prepare meals.
Sergey Olefirenko, the deputy head of the Yalta occupation administration, has announced this.
According to him, the administration is updating lists of apartment buildings that are not connected to the gas supply system. Areas for cooking have begun to be set up in the courtyards of these buildings.
“We will install stoves, tables, and tents in the courtyards. We will ask building managers to join this initiative—I hope for their cooperation,” Olefirenko wrote.
He added that there are about 1,500 such buildings in Yalta. It is impossible to cover them all in a single day, but work has reportedly already begun.
Olefirenko also reported that the occupation administration is negotiating with individual entrepreneurs regarding the preparation of ready-made meals. They are being promised certain support measures and subsidies.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 24, the russian publication The Bell wrote that since the beginning of July, electricity consumption had fallen by 42% compared to the same period last year.
And on July 19, it was reported that payphones were being installed in some towns in Crimea so that people could call emergency services.
As a reminder, in Dzhankoi in the northern Crimea, the occupying forces have implemented a schedule for mobile service due to power outages.
