A report by the Ukrainian News agency regarding the departure of Ifor Miroshnychenko, a former member of the Ukrainian Parliament from the Svoboda party, to the United States during russia's full-scale invasion sparked a public outcry, prompting the politician to publicly confirm the matter on his Facebook page.
Miroshnychenko’s latest social media post drew a large number of comments asking about the former MP’s stay in New York.
“So is it true that you left for the US, or not?” blogger Oleksandr Rudomanov asked the politician.
Miroshnychenko replied that he had moved to the US for the sake of his children.
“My friend, I have four children and have been forced to live in two countries for three years now, because the conditions aren’t right for my wife to return home with our young children,” he wrote in response.

On his social media accounts, Miroshnychenko emphasizes that he continues to engage in “civic activism” in Ukraine, yet, judging by his posts—for example, on Threads—most of his “activism” boils down to harassing russian-speaking Ukrainians online and leaving comments under russians’ posts, such as “we demand a repeat.” Even singer Oleh Vynnyk found himself among the targets of Miroshnychenko’s attacks.
As previously reported, after russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, Ihor Miroshnychenko left the country and currently resides in the United States, although he has never officially announced this to the general public.
