During his visit to Washington, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with US senators. The talks will take place on the eve of the consideration of an important bill to increase sanctions pressure on russia, according to The Hill.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, at 6:00 p.m. local time (1:00 a.m. on July 29 Kyiv time) at the Capitol. Invitations to the event were sent to all 100 US senators.
The main topic of discussion will be the bill on “hellish sanctions” against russia and its trading partners for its ongoing aggression against Ukraine. The bill has bipartisan support in the Senate and was introduced by the late Senator Lindsey Graham.
US President Donald Trump has already expressed support for this bill, but insists on expanding it to include additional restrictions against Iran and the “Hezbollah” group.
