On the night of July 24–25, russian forces launched a missile attack using a drone on the grounds of the Nova Poshta sorting terminal in Sumy. Three people were killed in the attack, and others were injured.
Oleh Hryhorov, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, and the press service of Nova Poshta have reported this.
According to Hryhorov, the russians targeted civilian infrastructure where people were working at the time. A massive fire broke out at the site of the strike. Cleanup efforts were complicated by the constant threat of further enemy strikes, which prevented rescue workers from immediately carrying out their work effectively.
The bodies of two victims were found at the epicenter of the explosion. Another man with extremely severe injuries was evacuated from the scene by police, but he died on the way to the hospital.
The victims were 43, 53, and 48 years old. According to Nova Poshta, all three victims were drivers working for the company’s partner carriers. Employees at the sorting terminal were not injured as a result of the attack.
The company’s press office also reported that several drivers were injured in the attack. Their condition is currently assessed as stable, and their lives are not in danger. All those injured are receiving the necessary medical care.
