Vessel tracking data shows that only three ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz each day over the past three days, according to Reuters.

Earlier today, another tanker—the Romania Prosperity—carrying a cargo of oil appeared off the coast of the United Arab Emirates. Its destination is not yet known. Two more bulk carriers left the strait and entered the Persian Gulf.
Over the past day, the tanker New Giant, carrying 2 million barrels of Iraqi oil, left the strait and headed for the Chinese port of Rizhao. Two more ships entered the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz.
On Thursday, US Central Command reported that it had completed its 13th consecutive night of strikes against Iran. The US military resumed the strikes after Iranian forces attacked ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Following this, Tehran announced that it was closing the strait to shipping.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, July 23, the Yemeni Houthis announced that they had attacked two tankers in the Red Sea. This caused oil prices to spike, as the market fears that the Houthis could block the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
As early as July 16, media outlets reported that Iran had asked the Yemeni Houthis to be prepared to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait if the US were to launch strikes against Iranian energy infrastructure.
