The US Senate has taken a step towards considering H.R.2913, the "Ukraine Support Act". The document has been officially added to the legislative calendar of the upper house of Congress. This was reported by the press service of the US Congress.
To do this, the Senate used the Rule 14 procedure. It allows you to bypass lengthy discussions in specialized committees and immediately transfer the document for consideration by the entire Senate. The process of adding it to the calendar lasted from July 16 to 20.
Getting on the calendar makes it possible to put the bill to a vote in the chamber. However, the exact date of consideration is not yet known, since this decision depends on the leadership of the Senate majority.
The bill was authored by Democrat Gregory Meeks, who registered it in the House of Representatives in April 2025.
