Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi reacted to his appointment to the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by thanking the President of Ukraine for his trust. He promised to work with respect for the people who defend the country.
He wrote about this on the social network Facebook.
"I thank the President of Ukraine for the trust, the Minister of Defense for the support, and the Defense Forces for a new stage of service. Serving Ukraine has always been an honor for me, and during the war for independence it meant absolute responsibility.
I am grateful to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi for his consistent work to strengthen the Ukrainian army. I grew up in it. I will work responsibly, focused and with respect for the people who are defending our state today. Glory to the nation. Death to the enemies," the message says.
Recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had dismissed Oleksandr Syrskyi from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and appointed Mykhailo Drapatyi in his place. While to Mykhailo Fedorov, Zelenskyy announced that he had offered a "decent" position in power related to the development of the technological component of the state.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the protesters promised to move to indefinite protests on Friday, July 24, if Mykhailo Fedorov is not reinstated as Minister of Defense by that time and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi is not dismissed.
