The Indian Ministry of External Affairs summoned the chargé d'affaires of russia, the aggressor country, in connection with the russian strike on a vessel in the Black Sea, which resulted in the deaths of four Indian citizens.

India expressed serious concern and condemnation to Vladimir Ladanov, the chargé d’affaires of the russian federation, regarding the deaths of four Indians aboard the MV Golden Leo.
The vessel in question is a civilian ship flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau, which was attacked by the russian occupation forces last Sunday, July 19, in the Black Sea. The dry cargo ship was en route from the port of Odesa.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that such attacks undermine the security, safety, and stability of international maritime trade.
“The Chargé d’Affaires of Russia was asked to convey to his government India’s deep concern that attacks on merchant vessels and thethe resulting deaths of innocent civilians are unacceptable and must be prevented," the statement reads.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 19, the occupiers struck the merchant ship MV Golden Leo, which was leaving the port of Odesa with a cargo of corn. Nine crew members and a pilot from the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority were killed.
