Russia has a significant number of intercepted Ukrainian drones at its disposal and could use them to carry out provocations on Polish territory. Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has stated this on his Facebook page.
The defense minister emphasized that Warsaw should prepare for such a scenario of “false flag” provocations, which is why this issue will be one of the key topics during a meeting of the government’s security committee. “Our partners from the Baltic states, Finland, and Romania are speaking about this. We see that this threat affects NATO’s entire eastern flank,” the Polish official emphasized.
According to Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the level of threat from russia remains extremely high, and moscow is gradually escalating tensions not only in the military sphere but also in the information sphere. The minister noted that in the past week alone, Polish and Swedish fighter jets have been scrambled three times to intercept russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea. In addition, Poland regularly faces cyberattacks, interference with critical infrastructure, and GPS signal jamming, which indicates russia’s relentless attempts to destabilize the region.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Poland will conduct air raid drill exercises: sirens will sound throughout the country.
The Polish Ministry of National Defense is working to put the country on full war footing. This measure is intended to ensure that the army, infrastructure, and transportation system are prepared for conflict even before martial law is declared in the country.
