225th Assault Regiment reports that it has captured 64 russian soldiers who were attempting to infiltrate rear in Zaporizhzhia Region

The 225th Separate Assault Regiment reported that its fighters had captured 64 russian occupiers who, according to the russian command’s plan, were supposed to infiltrate the rear of Ukrainian positions in the Zaporizhzhia sector unnoticed.

This is stated in a report from the 225th Assault Regiment.

Ukrainian troops conducted a sweep to eliminate russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the areas of Ternuvate, Kosivtseve, Rizdvianka, Verkhnia Tersa, and Vozdvyzhivka.

The regiment claims that the russian troops were ordered not to engage in combat. Their mission was to infiltrate the rear of Ukrainian forces, locate drone crews, gather intelligence, and raise russian flags to film propaganda videos about the alleged capture of settlements.

"They were supposed to infiltrate the rear of Ukrainian positions unnoticed. They were not to engage in combat. They were to search for UAV crews, gather intelligence, and raise Russian flags for yet another round of propaganda videos about 'captured' villages. Instead, they were taken prisoner. The result of the operation: 64 Russian prisoners of war,” the 225th Separate Assault Regiment stated.

At the same time, the military did not specify exactly when this operation took place.

The General Staff reported fighting in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, russian troops launched 21 attacks in the Huliaipole sector—in the area of Zaliznychne and in the directions of Dobropillia, Tsvitkove, Vozdvyzhivka, and Hirke.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces repelled another attempt by russian forces to advance near Shcherbaky.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces pushed back the russian occupation army in the areas of four settlements in the Oleksandrivka sector (at the junction of the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia Regions).
